To spend one’s hard-earned and legitimate wealth for the pleasure of Allah is indeed virtuous and most rewarding. A host of avenues can be identified to acquire this merit. As such, it follows that the donor should be satisfied that my contribution is expanded for what it has been earmarked.
The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa assesses the credentials of fund raisers and collectors to the best of its ability and the institution they represent. However, the donor community needs to be more circumspect when making donations. Co-operation from donors in this regard will go a long way in the effort to stamp out many malpractices of unscrupulous collectors.
Hereunder follows a few important points that will assist donors in establishing the authenticity of a Letter of Recommendation issued by the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa:
Whilst one is under no obligation to donate towards particular projects, we implore donors to be more considerate to our local projects. Lastly, we wish to emphasise that the Letter of Recommendation issued by the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa does not compel or prohibit anyone from contributing. It merely assists the donor to establish the bona fides of the collector. Ultimately, the prerogative is yours.
Prospective donors are advised to call the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa Head Office on 011 373 8000 or email jamiat@islamsa.org.za to verify the authenticity of Letters of Recommendation produced by collectors.
